CODE GREEN PARTNERS WITH THE UNITED NATIONS IN ROME
We're delighted to announce the latest phase of Code Green's partnership with the UN SDG Action Campaign, where we’re honoured to be curating a captivating new digital art series called UNITE TO ACT, aimed at raising awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At the prestigious United Nations SDG Action Awards held in Rome on 24th July 2023, the first artist unveiled in the series was Foodmasku, highlighting the importance of sustainable food systems in achieving the SDGs.
His piece ‘Farm-to-Face’, aims to ignite a lively conversation around the need for unity among global communities as they seek to embrace sustainable practices in food production.
In an inspiring fusion of creativity, sustainability, and culinary artistry, ‘Farm-to-Face’ leverages the zucchini to defy conventional forms of expression and explore the importance of local food products and agricultural practices as well as the need for preserving regional biodiversity around the world.
One of the standout moments of the Awards ceremony was the captivating performance by Inna Modja, Code Green's co-founder. Inna's performance highlighted the crucial role that art and culture play in advancing the SDGs. Beyond her musical contribution, Inna Modja played a vital role as a judge for the SDG Awards, actively engaging in the selection process and honoring individuals and organizations whose work had a significant impact on promoting the SDGs.
As part of her engagement, Inna also appeared on an Italian television channel RAI - check out her interview here
The event also honored Sabrina and Idris Elba with a well-deserved Honorable Mention for their contributions as IFAD Goodwill Ambassadors, recognizing their efforts in bringing agriculture into the media agenda and promoting the SDGs globally.
